Despite the dominance of modern life in our lives as Arabs, each Arab country has a traditional costume that symbolizes the rich heritage and history that spans thousands of years. The traditional Palestinian costume tells the history of a people.
The traditional Palestinian dress for women is characterized by the fact that each city has its own costume, whether in terms of the layers of the costume, the type and color of the fabric, or the embroidery. The Majdalawi dress:
This wonderful dress is made of cotton, and is characterized by its embroidery in green, red, and purple.
The Tobit Sabawi dress:
It is a very famous dress and is worn by most women in Palestine. It is black, resembling an abaya, and is made of polyester. This dress is available either plain or embroidered.
The Nablus dress
This dress is worn by the women of the city of Nablus, and this dress, as you can see from the picture, is very similar to the Syrian Damascene dress. The qanbaz: It is a robe that reaches the knees, open from the front, narrow from the top, and is worn by men especially while working in agriculture, to facilitate their movement.
The pants:
Men in Palestine wear pants that are loose from the top and narrow towards the legs.
The belt: Men wear a belt at the waist, and this belt is made of leather or woolen fabric with stripes.
The keffiyeh:
Let's not forget the famous Palestinian keffiyeh, which is considered a national symbol that symbolizes the struggle of the Palestinian people in international forums. The keffiyeh is characterized by the colors white and black and reflects the simplicity of rural life.
