Moroccan clothing varies greatly depending on the region in which the people live and the following are the most famous Moroccan clothes.

The Moroccan caftan is the essential piece for Moroccan women at every wedding, party, or special occasion. It is characterized by Moroccan hand embroidery such as Rabati in reference to the city of Rabat, or Fassi in reference to Fez, in addition to decorating it with precious stones.

The Abaya It is a wide, loose robe that is worn over clothes to hide the charms of a woman's body, and it is an essential piece for all Moroccan women. The Abaya covers the entire body of a woman except for the face, hands, and feet. Women can wear the Abaya on normal days.

Jalabia is a dress for women or men in Morocco, it is a loose, long robe with long sleeves, with the jalabiya there is a head cover to protect the head from the sun.

There are many types of jalabiyas, including the woolen jalabiya that is worn in the winter to warm the body, and also the cotton jalabiya that is worn during the summer. It is worth noting that jalabiyas can be worn daily or on occasions.


The traditional Moroccan dress is widely known in various countries of the world, and it is an integral part of the authentic Moroccan heritage, which is one of the main pillars of Moroccan civilization and a symbol of its distinction and historical sophistication, as it is a reflection of the multiplicity and diversity that shows the richness of authentic Moroccan culture.
