The traditional dress for men in the UAE is the kandura or (dishdasha), which is a long, one-piece dress with long sleeves., often white, to reflect the harsh rays of the sun. There are also other colors for the kandura, which are navy blue, beige, and brown, and these colors usually appear in the winter.

The Emirati men's costume consists of the gahfiya, which is a circular cap made from fabric that is worn under the ghutrah to secure it. As for the ghutrah, it is a square-shaped piece of fabric that is folded to take the shape of a triangle and then placed on the head and secured with the agal.

The agal is a piece of wool consisting of two circular layers, and is placed over the ghutra to secure it.

Bisht (men's outer garment)

The Bisht is a long, sleeveless, multi-colored robe decorated with gold embroidery. Men wear the Bisht over the Kandora, and it also occupies an important place in men's clothing in the UAE. In the past, men used to wear the Bisht daily, but with development, men only wear it on formal occasions or weddings.

Traditional clothing for women:

Abaya and Shaila

The Abaya is a long, loose robe with long sleeves that is made from a variety of luxurious fabrics, and consists of modern designs that suit fashion. The Abaya is usually black, but recently it has become available in many bright colors. While for Shaila is a head covering made of light fabric that is the same color as the Abaya.

Al-Mukhawar

The Mukhawar is a long dress, with long-sleeved made of luxurious fabrics such as silk and cotton, embroidered with elaborate and elegant embroidery with the addition of some small crystals on it. Despite the major developments in fashion that have swept the United Arab Emirates, Al Mukhawar has not changed and remains a symbol of authenticity and the eternal Emirati culture.

The Burqa

In the United Arab Emirates, the Burqa is considered a form of modesty for women. This burqa is hand-made from fine fabric and designed with a distinctive design, and is worn over the face, also is usually worn by older women.

The Burqa is available in many colors, such as navy blue, although gold is the most common.

Emirati clothing is more than just a design and fabric - it is a reflection of the country's values, history and identity. In a developing world, traditional clothing serves as a timeless reminder of the rich culture of the United Arab Emirates, and it also shows the people's love for their heritage.
