Discover The Flavours of Greek Cuisine

Any country whose civilization spans thousands of years is naturally going to offer us an ancient and distinctive cuisine, as is the case with Greek cuisine. Below, we will review the most important dishes and ingredients of Greek cuisine.


Moussaka



Consists of eggplant, potatoes, minced meat, tomatoes, and cheese. It is also popular in Iraq, the Levant, and Egypt under several names, such as moussaka, matbak, and tabsi with some differences in ingredients. It is one of the most famous main Greek dishes and is served hot.


Fasolatha 



Bean soup with tomatoes, olive oil and some vegetables, also called the national food of Greece


Dolmades




Grape leaves (vine leaves) stuffed with rice and cooked with olive oil, this dish is also popular in the Levant, Iraq and Egypt and is served cold or hot.

 

Finally, we notice a great similarity between Greek cuisine and the cuisines of neighboring enamel countries such as the Levant, Egypt and Iraq, and Greek cuisine is considered the godfather of Mediterranean cuisine.
